So many people equate blackjack with gambling.  What about the other games that are out there?  Is it Hollywood who generally puts blackjack in all Vegas casino scenes?  What about craps or roulette or baccarat? Have these games just been completely forgotten?

Drama aside, I love blackjack as much as the next person but I think it’s time to focus in on some lesser known games.  Keno for example, is tons of fun.  It’s like playing the lottery but over and over as many times as you’d like!  Slots are an old favorite and while most of the time people consider them a “girlie” game, I beg to differ.  I think women might have more patience to sit and do the same thing over and over again, but there’s the same amount of money in it for the men!  More and more people are realizing that a small bet can mean a big win in slots and it’s worth having a bit of patience.

Some people are saying that poker is the new blackjack.  That doesn’t seem very logical to me as the two games are really quite different, but I’m assuming they’re talking about popularity.  Poker is a game that’s worth learning, because unlike other casino games you can play against other people as opposed to just playing against the house.  So, it’s really up to you.  Stick to the classics (or to what you know) or branch out a bit and expand your gambling horizons.  Who knows? Maybe you’ll discover a world far beyond blackjack.
